And the important reasons to become accredited…

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) serves as the primary scientific resource for the CEO Cancer Gold Standard. Working in ongoing collaboration, CEO Roundtable staff and NCI staff bring new scientific evidence to the Pillars as discoveries evolve and are verified. In addition to NCI, both the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) develop valuable information relevant to the Gold Standard Pillars.

The National Cancer Institute is one of 27 Institutes and Centers that form the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the primary funder of medical research and training to universities and medical centers across the nation. NIH, CDC, and FDA – all key resources on cancer and so many other diseases – are agencies within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
