Healthy Team, Healthy U

Healthy Team, Healthy U is a wellness program designed by OHSU faculty and staff to help employees achieve a healthy lifestyle and capture the power of employees working together to increase physical activity, improve diet and reduce stress. Numerous benefits have been documented, including reduced blood pressure, lower body weight among those who are overweight, improved diet and exercise behaviors and feeling healthier. Furthermore, people felt less depressed, missed less work and reported being happier after participating in HTHU. 

Nearly 3,000 OHSU employees came together to participate in HTHU making up over 600 Teams in the first year! Since then, thousands more have participated to make Healthy TEAM Healthy U an integral part of employee wellness.  HTHU offers different programs to fit different needs. We offer HTHU 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 Prevention, and 3.0 Enhancement. New for 2014-2015 is the HTHU Pregnancy Exercise & Nutrition (PEN) program for those who are pregnant or interested in pregnancy.

Pick Your Program Each week your Team will meet to learn a new health topic. 

Weekly curriculum topics for HTHU 1.0 include: 

  • Energy balance 
  • Strength training 
  • General nutrition 
  • Cardiovascular disease recognition and prevention

HTHU 2.0 is designed to sustain and increase the benefits you gained from HTHU 1.0. You will learn about: 

  • Increasing your aerobic fitness and strength 
  • Obtaining higher quality sleep 
  • Understanding depression 
  • Preventing back pain 

HTHU 3.0 is the latest version of HTHU. Participants can choose one of two advanced, 12-week programs: the Prevention Track or the Enhancement Track.  
The 3.0 Prevention Track session topics include: 

  • Diabetes prevention & management 
  • Weight management 
  • Heart health 

The 3.0 Enhancement Track session topics include: 
Consumer health & safety 

  • Sports training 
  • Stress management

Pregnancy Exercise & Nutrition (PEN) program is for those who are pregnant or interested in pregnancy. PEN is a 20-week, team-based program to support women in achieving a healthy pregnancy and adopting lifelong health behaviors. 

Home and gym strength training videos and healthy cooking videos made exclusively for OHSU complement all levels of HTHU.
