Keys to a Well Corporate Culture

LHI provides full primary care and complementary services at no cost to their employees. Within this setting, health education specialists routinely screen as many patients (family and dependents as well) as possible for lifestyle concerns that lead to chronic disease - including cancer.

Health care providers within the system can screen and diagnose cancer, and do refer for treatment and support services frequently. New screening guidelines are in use for lung and colorectal cancers. The lifestyle screen includes tobacco and alcohol use, lack of physical activity, nutrition, and depression and anxiety. The educator meets the patients and makes referrals to services that include behavioral health, a registered dietitian, fitness and wellness coach, and tobacco treatment services as necessary.

Nicotine replacement is provided at no cost. Tobacco use policies are robust and provide as much monetary incentive to not use tobacco as the law will allow.

The patients, employees, legal domestic partners, and dependents to age 26 are eligible for all services, including all recommended vaccines all at no cost.
